Catch your dinner! (Fishing):

Here in Chilliwack, we are so lucky to have incredible streams and safe access to rivers for fishing. The first step to getting out to fish is obtaining the proper license. Without a license you are not authorized to catch and keep. There are different types of licensing, depending on the region, who will be fishing and other factors. Find information on purchasing for your fishing license here. AND our newest development, Cedarbrook is surrounded by a beautiful riverside trail perfect for skipping rocks or seasonal fishing!

Ps, One of our developments, Webster Crossing, is only seconds away from the Fraser River, a prime fishing spot to Chilliwack natives.

Cultus Lake:

Known as the jewel of the Fraser Valley. It is the local’s destination for fishing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, hiking, swimming, waterslides, camping, theme parks and so much more! It is the perfect option whether you want to spend some money on activities or just head up for a quick dip!

Harrison Hot Springs:

Harrison Hot Springs’ greatest attraction is its titular springs but, it also has a marina with jet boat tours of the lake available, a nine-hole golf course, and is the closest access to Sasquatch Provincial Park. In July, Harrison Hot Springs hosts the Harrison Festival of the Arts, a ten-day celebration of world music and art. The annual Festival features free outdoor beach concerts, ticketed evening performances, a children’s day, visual art exhibits, various workshops and two weekend art markets. The Harrison Festival also presents ten to twelve professional performing arts events between September and May each year. These events are free to visit and a great way to spend the day at the lake!

Farmers Markets:

Chilliwack is home to a variety of different events across the town.

On Wednesday nights, Sardis Park is home to The Eco Market which is a farmers’ market that runs from May to October. For more information about the Eco Market and vendors click this link the eco market.

The Yarrow Farm Market is another public recurring market that runs every Friday, from May to September yearly. They pride themselves on a selection of local vendors selling homemade and or homegrown fresh foods, flowers, and handcrafted items. The Market proudly facilitates personal connections between farmers, shoppers, and our community. For more information you can visit their website at theyarrowfarmmarket.

These are just a few of the amazing inexpensive sites to see local to Chilliwack and Abbotsford. And, as our Cedarbrook development progresses it will be home to its very own events and activities so stay tuned!
